When Doug and Mary Perkins set Specsavers up back in 1984, they were inspired by one big idea: making a difference. Back then it was about making quality, affordable eyecare accessible to everyone. We’ve changed quite a bit since then, and today we’re committed to changing lives through better sight.
We’ve never aspired to be the biggest eye care business – we’ve simply tried to be the best. As we’ve grown, with new stores, new teams, and customers across the world, we’ve never lost sight of who we are: a family business, owned and run by local professionals, each one committed to the highest standards of care in their community.
But we don’t stand still. Our future is not just about making a difference to our customers but, at the same time, making sure we positively impact on the lives of the people we work with, the communities we serve and the planet we share.
If all that sounds ambitious, well, it is. But so are we.
Our journey so far has been incredible – but the best is ahead of us. Our global partnership, and the power and passion of 40,000 colleagues across the globe, gives us a unique opportunity to change lives through better sight, in a way that’s better for our people, our communities and our planet.
