Should I refrain from wearing contact lenses before having a sight test and if so, for how long?
Answer:
There are two different types of eye examination, and whether you wear your lenses will depend which type of exam you are having. An eye examination is a check up which you have every couple of years to check your eyesight and the health of the eye. A contact lens examination is an aftercare appointment design to find out how well your eye is during contact lens wear.If you are having the first type of general eye examination you need to ideally remove your lenses about two hours before the appointment so your eyes can return to their relaxed state. However, if you are having a contact lens exam you should wear your contact lenses as usual so the optician can check the contact lens fit etc.
