If my vision's fine, do I need a regular sight test?
Answer:
Yes. A comprehensive sight test will include a check of the health of the inner and outer parts of the eye as well as a test of vision (both with and without any current prescribed lenses). So even if you are happy with your vision you should still have a regular check-up of the condition of your eyes. The eye can be affected by a number of conditions which may be picked up much earlier through the sight test than through waiting for symptoms to occur. The earlier a condition is detected the more chance there is of limiting its effects on the patient's vision. You should have an eye examination every two years or more regularly if advised by your optometrist.
