Do pre-school health checks test my child's vision?
There are regular health checks during an infant's development, which can vary depending on local arrangements in the area you live. A common check would include looking for obvious signs of vision problems - eg does the child have a problem seeing small objects, or have an obvious squint? These tests may not be carried out by a specialist eyecare professional and will not always include a full eye health check. Even if your child's vision seems good it is worth taking them for a full sight test at a qualified optician when they reach school age, just to make sure that there aren’t any issues with their vision that are likely to affect their early school years.
